It’s the end of the year and that means party season is in full swing. When I was thinking about what to wear to these upcoming festivities, I knew three things: that I wanted my outfits to be chic, playful and of course classic.
I love midi skirts but every now and then I have to change it up. However, when you’ve been blessed with extra inches, it’s not easy to find a skirt that’s above the knee and still keep it classy. Now, don’t get me wrong I’m all about statements, but wearing too short of a skirt is not the statement I’m going for. As a tall woman, I know that I instantly make a impression when I walk into a room and I try to make it a good one.
Tall Girl Tips for going with a shorter skirt:
- Pick an appropriate length. Remember, all eyes are on you because you’re tall and in order to be confident you have to be comfortable in what you’re wearing.
- Wear your heels. Some can be hesitant to do this because if the skirt is above the knee, why would you want to draw more attention to your legs? But I say “why not??” Heels will only enhance your legs and your outfit.
- Cover the arms. If you’re showing off your legs, you have to cover from the waist up because that’s how you keep it classic. Pick one to show off: arms or legs. You can’t give it all away.
So, this season #IWantItTALL and you should too! Long Tall Sally is making tall girl’s dreams come true with their partywear options by providing us with the extra length we desire. When looking for a skirt I instantly went to LTS to see what was new and when I came across this skirt I knew I had to have it. It was the right length, with the right amount of sparkle and when paired with a colored blazer; it’s just playful enough to where it remains classically chic.
Just a reminder to all my tall girls: your height isn’t going anywhere, so embrace it, love it and make sure that you own it! And for that extra boost of confidence LTS has got you covered.
Here are a few LTS pieces I’m currently coveting:
